The University of Nottingham Ningbo, Sustainable Energy Technology Research Center building is a demonstration model that shows the latest technolgies in ecological conservation and construction. The building does not use a traditional heating and cooling systems, but the use of renewable energy to heating and cooling. External tilt windows with air buffer layer can be taken away parts of the solar radiation and through the use of photovoltaic power generation systems, improving energy efficiency and renewable energy use. At the same time, the building had to collect rainwater storage and recycling of water resources systems, the true power of water to achieve self-sufficiency, to achieve zero carbon emissions. It has been calculated that in the next 25 years, this building can reduce carbon emissions 1081.8 tons.
